Our Mission
Families with Children from China
of Wilmington is devoted to educating the community, supporting
Chinese orphanages, and providing a network of support for
families who are adopting or have adopted children from China.
To accomplish our mission we
will:
Build a nurturing
community for families with children from China by
- Hosting social events
throughout the year
- Organizing playgroups
for children
Celebrate the
diversity of our families and honor our children’s heritage by
- Sharing knowledge of China
- Celebrating Chinese holidays
- Organizing culture camps
- Encouraging participation with
the Wilmington Chinese American Cultural Association
Promote public
awareness of our community’s concerns by
- Developing adoption education
programs
- Advocating for the awareness
and development of cultural sensitivity
Support
Wilmington-area families who are in the adoption process by
- Providing online links to
adoption agencies and pertinent adoption information
- Sharing adoption process and
travel experiences
Provide
assistance
to children who remain in China’s orphanages and foster care
by
- Organizing fundraisers
- Collecting donations
